Patience Mutesi is the the Rwanda Country Director of TradeMark East Africa (TMEA), and Aid-for-Trade Organisation that aims at growing prosperity in East Africa through increased trade. Since joining the organisation in July 2016. Ms Mutesi has overseen completion of the first phase of a US$65 million portfolio, and the mobilisation of the second phase of a US$57 million portfolio of trade facilitation projects in Rwanda in areas including trade infrastructure development, quality standards, non-tariff barriers, ICT for trade, cross border trade, logistics, trade related advocacy, export development and women in trade among others. Patience has significant corporate banking and credit risk experience from her 12-year career at both Ecobank Rwanda and Banque Commerciale du Rwanda (Current I&M Bank Rwanda). She also has financial leadership experience in deal origination, negotiation, structuring and execution as well as strategy, marketing and product development which Patience developed prior to joining TMEA. In her last banking role, Patience was head of corporate banking in Ecobank Rwanda and acting corporate banking cluster head for EAC covering for Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda
